John Hall Wheelock correspondence with Louis Untermeyer, 1959-1962.

The collection consists of three letters between Wheelock and Untermeyer, including: card from Wheelock to Untermeyer, 24 May 1959, about his Evening contemplation, and agreeing to have it published in the Britannica Library of Great American Writing; letter from Wheelock to Untermeyer, 9 Nov. 1962, regretting that he missed Untermeyer's National Poetry Festival, but congratulating him on the success, with news of their friend Van Wyck's illness, and comments on the anthology Modern American Poetry, including some typos in Wheelock's contributions, with comments on his other activities. Also, Untermeyer's reply, 14 Nov. 1962, with a summary of the Festival, apologies for the typos but assurances that they will be fixed in future printings, and his own news on Van Wyck's condition.
